Actually...

The Legendary Romulus, and his twin brother, Remus were the orphaned offspring of Mars and a Vestal Virgin, who were raised by wolves and later became the founders of Rome. According to legend Romulus went on to become the first king of Rome. Sadly for Remus, he screwed up or something, and Romulus murdered him, apparently.

Me & AmandaI, on the other hand, am a self employed Network/Internet/Webmaster guy running my own company from home. (That's me on the left with my daughter Amanda.) I chose the username Romulus (which has now become my Internet alias) because my surname is longer than eight letters and I thought I would give these pages a Roman feel. That hasn't happened yet!

Prior to starting my own company I was a Network Systems Administrator/Programmer at a Local University for just over 18 months.

Prior to that I was the sales Sales Manager for the same University's Computer Shop for about 3 and half Years. Before that I worked with LJ Hooker- Thornlie, the top LJ Hooker office in Western Australia. The first 18 months of my 5 year stay with them, were spent as a property manager. I followed this with several years of interesting Real Estate sales.

Meet the Wife & Kids...

Linda I met my lovely bride, Linda, at Curtin University while I was studying Maths and Computing in 1987. We eventually married in February 1990
Amanda In July 1994 we increased our family by producing Amanda Caitlin, who is so clever it's frightening, and in September 1996 we had Jabe Connor, who is still too young to describe as being brilliant just yet! We live together in Thornlie, a middle class suburb, situated south east of Perth, Western Australia.

So what do I like?

Some of my interests include computers (oddly enough), nearly all forms of music, and writing HTML and Perl. I enjoy watching a good movie (any rating ;-) especially classic epics like Ben Hur, Sparticus, Star Wars etc...type of stuff and REALLY enjoy playing 8-Ball.

Although I was a long time Amiga user, since it was released until February 1997, the shop I manage sells Apple Macs, PC Clones, Digital Computers, Toshiba Notebooks, and bucket loads of Microsoft Crapware, so I've had plenty of experience with less sophisticated hardware and software ;-)

Currently at home I have a modest little setup...My main system is a PIII 667Mhz, ASUS PC3VX M/B, 256Mb RAM, 1 x 60 Gig +2 x 13 Gig HDD's, DVD-ROM, Yamaha SCSI CD burner, Matrox G400 Dual Head, 1 x 15" Philips 150B2 LCD Panel, 1 Philips 107P Billiance Monitor, LG Webcam, 10/100 NIC. I know it's needs an upgrade which is coming soon ;-)

Second system is a Gateway Solo 5300 PIII Notebook with a Netgear wireless PCMCIA card.

Linda uses my old Digital Celebris GL-2 PentiumII-266Mhz with 160Mb RAM, 2 x 3.2Gb and 1 x 8.4Gb UDMA Hard Drive, 2 x Matrox Millenium Video Cards and 2 x 17" Monitors.

The kids are using an old PII with about 64Mb RAM, 3Gig drive, 15" Monitor and a Netgear PCI Wireless NIC.

The network is basically a Netgear RT314 4 x port DSL router with a Netgear ME102 Wireless Hub (which is in the Kitchen for best coverage), Netgear FS108 8 x port 10/100 switch and an Alcatel Speed Touch DSL modem all plugged in ;-)

And yes! When it's all going the street lights tend to dim a bit ;-)
